Thank you to everyone who made the journey to Indianapolis for Fit Bloggin & Fit Social 2016!
The FitBloggin community is special and those who attended the conference were able to interact with many wonderful people from all walks of life. For us at Zephyr Conferences, it was inspiring and we are grateful to have had the chance to meet everyone who attended.
Last year we conducted a survey of FitBloggin alumni and overwhelmingly heard cost was a major factor in whether people could attend. The reality is paid attendance at FitBloggin has been declining in recent years and we tried hard to make 2016 affordable for attendees: we chose an easily accessible city, included a pre-conference excursion at no charge, selected a hotel with a moderate room rate, and even provided $200 discounts to alumni who registered early.
We are still receiving feedback from the attendee survey and will analyze all the results. Some initial highlights from the conference appear to be:
- Almost all the content sessions were rated very highly but the Small Group Discussion on “Your Weight Loss Journey – the Highs and Lows” was the top rated content session of the conference with outstanding reviews.
- Of the events, the Pre-Conference Excursion with Life Time Fitness and the Saturday morning fitness session with the same company were the top two rated activities. Thank you to Life Time Fitness for being involved!
And here are a sampling of attendee comments:
“I thought the overall schedule was designed well, with multiple workouts in between sessions, lunch and snacks, and great support from Zephyr!”
“This was my first time to this conference. I was very thankful for the opportunity to attend. I thought it was a good event and very different from any other type of conference I had attended. This was also my first blogging conference.”
“Each element in which I participated, I enjoyed. Zephyr representatives infused enthusiasm, personable professionalism and an eagerness to please at every turn. Additionally, logistically speaking, the registration process was customer-friendly, communication was regular and timely and where there were unavoidable mishaps, resolutions were relevant, creative and appropriate.”
“Great organization and overall structure. For my 3rd year, I found this to be the best organized and ran.”
Of course, there are always suggestions for improvement and we will analyze those carefully. We suffered from a Southwest Airlines problem that kept several speakers away and know we need to provide more food at breakfast.
But in all, we had an awesome time and hope you did too!
