If you didn’t know, FitBloggin’ Speaker positions are on a volunteer basis. Every year, we pay our speaker’s kindness forward in the form of a donation to a non-profit that shares our mission to foster a culture of health and wellness. We believe that through technology, blogging and social media we can make a difference, and we are.
A donation was made in the name of the FitBloggin’12 Speakers for the amount of $2,300 to Morning Mile.
Morning Mile is a before-school walking/running program that gives children the chance to start their day in an active way while enjoying fun, music and friends. With our donation, two schools will now be able to participate in this amazing program.
FitBloggin’ received this personal note from Morning Mile founder Fitz Koehler
To the amazing speakers of FitBloggin’12:
With each word you speak at this exciting conference, know that thousands of steps will be taken. In tribute of your donated time, FitBloggin’ has generously sponsored the Morning Mile at two elementary schools in the United States. The Morning Mile is a before-school running/walking program that allows children of all ages to start every school day with moderate to vigorous exercise. It is supported by music and a spectacular system of rewards, which keeps kids motivated to keep going and highly congratulated. Last year a kindergartner ran 300 miles, a 3rd grader ran 500 miles and an elementary school totaled 26,000 miles!
Know that your amazing gift is guaranteed to change the lives of tens of thousands of children for the better.
Thank you!
Fitz Koehler, Morning Mile Founder Fitzness International LLC, President
