I’m so excited to announce New Balance as the official FitBloggin’11 5k/1 mile sponsor! Along with the run/walk, New Balance will be hosting a 50 minute wellness session Friday morning of the conference (more info coming soon.)
This year to help inspire even more first time runners, New Balance and FitBloggin’ will be hosting a series of posts here on the blog based on the popular Couch-to-5k program. Starting in March we will be rallying the troops to get training with posts and tips to inspire the new runner.
By following along with the program you will be training for your first ever 5k to be run May 20 in Baltimore with all your favorite bloggers. What could possibly be more fun than that?!
If you are seasoned runner, we invite you to follow along and share tips and inspiration as well!
So keep an eye on the blog for announcements. We’ll be kicking off the Couch-to-5k program on March 13th. In the meantime, get out there and get moving! No need to wait for us!
You have just made my day! 🙂
I have ONLY ever worn New Balance shoe in my adult life. I discovered them while I was in college and never switch. I'M SO THRILLED they are a sponsor!
I did couch -to- 5k last year and fell in love with running. I personal set St. Patricks Day to start running again because that's just about 9 weeks until the Fitbloggin 5k! This is perfect!
Woo Hoo! I <3 New Balance shoes! Their 550 mules are absolutely my favorite every day casual shoe.

I haven't done an "official" 5k event in a while. I'm really looking forward to it! 🙂

I'm so happy New Balance is returning! AND….I'm excited about the training program, because I *may* (gasp) actually try to run this year! Woot!
What a great idea! Can't wait to read the series 🙂
The Fitbloggin 5k will be my first run, too! I sat and looked at the options on the form and mulled it over and over "1 mile walk or 5k run… 1 mile walk or 5k run?" and then decided to challenge myself to run! I'm psyched! 🙂
I'm so excited!!!
I am looking forward to the 5K, it will be a nice tune-up for a 10K I am hoping to do well at the following week.
