Session Overview: When You Have a Lot to Lose

Posted: March 8th, 2012 | Author: Roni | Filed under: Sessions | 10 Comments »

There is no question that having to lose any kind of significant amount of weight is not only physically demanding but also mentally tough to accept. All weight loss is challenging, but when you wake up in the morning and resign yourself to having to lose more than 100 pounds, it can feel insurmountable.

Tara and Meegan don’t want anyone to be afraid to attend FitBloggin 12 because they think no one will understand what it’s like to lose 100, 200 or 300 pounds. Join them (they’ve both tackled 100-pound+ weight loss) and others on their journeys as they invite you to talk about the process of fitness and weight loss when you have a lot to lose. Share a dialogue and experiences with those who understand what it is like to make the decision to change your life through fitness. Come talk with those who understand what it’s like to not recognize yourself in the mirror even after a year of living in a new body. Feel welcomed with those who know what it’s like to feel intimidated to join a room full of strangers no matter where you are on your life-changing journey.

Welcome Reebok!

Posted: March 6th, 2012 | Author: Roni | Filed under: FitBloggin'12, News, sponsors | 1 Comment »

FitBloggin’ is excited to announce our latest sponsor, Reebok!

Reebok

Reebok has a heritage of empowering people to get fit – it’s part of the brand’s DNA. In the 1980s, Reebok was a major catalyst in the growth of the fitness movement, and through products such as the Freestyle, and programming like Step Reebok, Reebok led a new fitness movement that carried the brand to unprecedented growth.

Reebok has been at the forefront of a fitness movement before, and is doing the same thing today. In 2012, Reebok is aiming to change the way people perceive, define and experience fitness, and ultimately show the world that fitness can deliver everything they love about sport. More and more people are coming together to experience fitness in a community environment, with shared goals, shared experiences and a certain level of competition. It shows that fitness can be experienced in a supportive, engaging and dynamic way.

At the center of Reebok’s fitness campaign is CrossFit, the revolutionary strength and conditioning program. CrossFit is one of the fastest growing fitness movements in the world. It is a sport that is about community, competition and camaraderie – and delivers amazing results.

Join us in Baltimore Sept. 20-23 to experience Reebok Fitness with a CrossFit workout and participate in our 5K run/1-mile walk.

If you didn’t know, FitBloggin’ Speaker positions are on a volunteer basis.

It was Winston Churchill who said,

“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”

For FitBloggin’11, in lieu of speaker gifts, we decided to give ourselves and pay our speakers’ kindness forward.

A donation was made in the name of the FitBloggin’11 Speakers to Shape Up America.

Shape Up America is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to educate the public on the importance of achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight through the adoption of increased physical activity and healthy eating.

FitBloggin’ shares this mission. We also believe that through technology, blogging and social media we can inspire and foster a culture of health and wellness.

Today we received this… Read the rest of A Thank You from Shape Up America!»»
