Travel Information

The questions are starting to trickle in.

What airport should I fly into?
How close is the hotel?
Do I need to rent a car?

First let me emphasize how important it is for you make your hotel arrangements as soon as possible. FitBloggin’ weekend is the same as Preakness weekend and the city is bound to be a madhouse. We still have rooms in the FitBloggin’ block but they are selling fast.

The conference is held at the Marriott Baltimore Waterfront

Traveling by Air?

The closest airport by far is BWI. You could fly to DC but the travel time to the hotel would be at least an hour with traffic. From BWI you are 10 miles away, about a 20-minute drive.

The easiest and cheapest way to get to the hotel from the airport is via SuperShuttle. It’s $13 one way if you reserve ahead of time on their website. The Marriott is listed as one of their hotel destinations. Simply search for Courtyard Marriott Inner Harbor .

Try the code UYR59 for $3 off! I believe it’s a national discount.

Covering Travel Costs

Travel and hotel costs can add up and many bloggers seek sponsorships to attend conferences like FitBloggin’. Consider securing a sponsor to help with your costs. Click here to see MizFit’s thoughts on the subject.

Sponsored bloggers are welcome. Please just let us know so we can prevent a conflict of interest with conference wide sponsorships.

Great question! BWI or Penn Station both work. Penn Station is closer to the hotel but you may still want to hop in a cab.

Unfortunately Mass Transit in the Baltimore area isn't that intuitive. The hotel has some info about the lightrail that may help…. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/travel/bwiwf-...

[...] For those flying, your best bet is to take SuperShuttle from the airport. It’s about $26 round trip. I have more information in the Travel Information post.  [...]
