Many of you who have attended FitBloggin’ before know we always have a large printed agenda, plus printed routes, letters, and numerous signs at the event. Some of these things are valuable, of course, but over the years I’ve cringed at the amount of wasted paper I have personally thrown away post-conference. In an effort to reduce our overall dependence on printed products we are happy to offer you Bizzabo, our official mobile app for FitBloggin’13.
At FitBloggin’ we’re all about providing lots of options for you to experience new things, including waking up at the crack of dawn to get your sweat on before a full day of conference happenings!
On Friday morning, join Erin Kreitz Shirey for a morning boot camp like no other. Watch Mt. Hood shine as you do sprints along the water front. Learn about your own strength, as you embrace the beauty of Portland. Erin’s boot camp will not only motivate you, but give you dynamic exercise drills and tools to use when you fly home. Boot Camp combines cardio, strength, body-weight exercises, TEAMwork, agility, core work and tons of laughter. Watch out, she may bust out the Running Man to keep you laughing as sweat is pouring down your brow.
Portland is Erin’s Heart City (founded her business Power Fitness PDX there 8 years ago), so this is a special treat to return to teach boot camp at FitBloggin’ 13 Portland!
For more info on Erin or her boot camps, visit digdeepplayhard.com.
Saturday morning we’ll have you sweating PINK!
SweatPink Yoga is a fusion of yoga and boot camp designed to give you a total body workout that will jump-start your metabolism and boost your cardiovascular endurance by combining strength training, flexibility, cardio and balance. SweatPink Yoga is taught by Fit Approach founder Jamie Walker, a certified yoga instructor, NASM-certified, ultramarathon runner and fitness fanatic.
Both these classes are open. Meet Erin and Jamie at 6 a.m. in the Fashion/Culture ballroom and be ready to get your sweat on!

Attend this hands-on workshop as a follow up to last year’s SEO presentation by Brandi Koskie. Once again Brandi, the director of publishing for DietsInReview.com, will share with you small, easy and best of all free ways to improve the visibility of and traffic to your site. Each attendee will be able to ask questions and you’ll see some of the steps Brandi uses to promote and rank hundreds of articles a month. Bring your laptop and be ready for some constructive criticism and guidance on improving your blog from the front end, like headlines and images, to the back end, with metadata and proper link placement.
Come with laptops in hand ready to work on your blog during the session!
While people can spend a lifetime mastering photography, creating better photos for your blog can be easy, fun, and fulfilling.
The first step is getting a basic understanding of the technical aspects of photography, such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO. With these mechanics in mind, we can consider some general rules about lighting, composition and artistic effects that go into crafting a more visually appealing photo.
But the most important aspect of a photo is capturing the moment, nailing the “emotionally perfect” shot, and using the camera as a tool to see the world through a whole new lens.
I’ll share an overview of my workflow, shortcuts to get from camera to blog, and tons of resources and links to continue your photography adventures.
Thanks to all our generous sponsors, we are again able to make even more volunteer-style positions available this year!
We do things a little differently than some conferences. These aren’t traditional “volunteer” positions or your run-of-the-mill “scholarships.” FitBloggin’ will now be accepting applications for assistantships to help bloggers who are unable to attend the conference for financial reasons.
Here’s how it works: In exchange for a free ticket to FitBloggin’13, each assistant will cover one session as a LiveBlogger. Read the rest of Over 30 FitBloggin’13 Assistantships Available!»»
